Our wonderful 10 weeks of vacation has finally arrived! Aren’t we all enjoying ourselves?
Over the previous semester, SUI! Has participated and planned many events but the largest of them all, was the SUI! 2008 Artestify Competition which generated the most CE points, exceeding the target we have originally set for ourselves in this competition.
Let’s recap on our invaluable experience then. From the last post, we can see who had gotten into the final session of the design competition planned and conducted by SUI! We have received many votes from Republicans whom I believe had made tough choices when voting due to the variety of finalists to choose from. However, as we all know, there can only be one winner.
(Our Emcee - Nelly Yap)
The end of the voting phrase ended on the 9th January 2009 while the results were quickly tabulated and announced on 15th January 2009 at LR-W3, 12pm.We were extremely honored to have Mr Tan Huang Pheow, our director for SOH to be present to give away the prizes our finalists and winners deserved.
(These are the Prizes for the Competition)
The ceremony lasted no more than an hour as it started off with an opening speech by one of SUI!’s advisors, Victor Tan. The winners for the open category were Muhammad Irfan Bin Amarn (1st), and En Yi Ihan (2nd).
Moving on, the winners for the T-Shirt category were Mohammad Hadif Adzim Bin Azmi (1st), and Vernon Yip Chern Yeh (2nd) while the winners for the Laptop category were Geraldine Tay Han Jun (1st), and Hairul Amir B Jamal Abdul Nasir (2nd).
(Grand Prize Winner - Geraldine Tay Han Jun )
Liu Yawen, Cheong Jin Yao Denson, and Sitti Nordiyanah Bte Nordin were the lucky voters to win away $20 takashimaya vouchers each.
All in all, I had great fun participating in this event and had gained much invaluable experiences such as being able to plan and think about the different contributing factors and possible pitfalls during the process and have hands on experience in being part of the committee to conduct this Design Competition.
I would once again like to congratulate all our winners and finalist for their achievements and thank them for participating in this event which SUI! has organized.
This event wouldn’t have been successful without the help of our advisors and the hard work of our committee members. Thank you.
Last but not least, we will like to thank you all sincerely as we couldn’t have done it without the support from all the participants in this competition; whether it was the voters, designers, finalists, or members. Thank you.
